Ashley Cash

Ashley Cash is the administrator and co-founder of Potomac Falls Music. Holding a B.A. from George Mason University, Ashley has been involved in music for most of her life. She teaches beginning guitar and voice in a style that is particularly well suited for students who want to learn to sing and play. Although Ashley was classically trained in voice, her primary focus now lies in popular music including pop, rock, R&B, and folk. As a full-time instructor, Ashley aims to impart the technical means necessary to enjoy singing and playing music.

Ashley is also a professional performer as one half of the award-winning duo, Woven Green. Additionally, she is the lead singer and front woman for the new rock band, One Leap, which will be debuting in the late spring of 2015. With her rich alto/mezzo-soprano voice, Ashley brings warmth and power to the songs of Woven Green and One Leap. Her vocal range and clarity fills the room and captivates audiences while she seamlessly integrates rock, pop, gospel, and blues vocal styles. Ashley is also an accompanying rhythm acoustic and electric guitar player, as well as a percussionist.

Monty Smith

Monty Smith

Piano and drum instructor

Classically trained on piano from the age of 4, Monty Smith graduated from Northern Virginia Community College in May of 2014 with an Associate of Arts degree in Music. Both of his parents play multiple instruments, which served as a strong driving force in his musical upbringing. His father teaches bassoon and directs orchestras, while his mother plays flute and piano with several groups, in addition to graciously supporting Montys ever-growing musical career. During his college years, Monty added drum kit, guitar and bass to his arsenal of instruments, studying under multiple instructors to heavily broaden his musical horizons. Aside from classical endeavors, Monty has also played in numerous rock bands, several church groups, accompanied choral ensembles and taught group keyboard and band classes at summer camps. Monty enjoys teaching Pop, Rock, Fusion, Electronic, Classical and more to any student with a thirst for learning!

When he isn't teaching lessons or playing in bands, Monty occasionally works as a stagehand for concerts of all sizes. Monty also maintains a vast collection of model trains built from Lego bricks, which he displays at public shows several times a year.
